Half-naked commuters were not deterred by cold temperatures on Sunday for the annual No Pants Day subway ride.
Now in its fifteenth year, the day of silliness began as a prank by improvisational group Improv Everywhere back in 2001.
The trend has gone global, with commuters in Prague, Berlin and New York traveling around their city for one day in their underwear.
The only requirements for participants according to the Improv Everywhere website are to be:
Able to keep a straight face about it
The website’s instructions say: “Sit in the car as you normally would. Read a magazine or whatever you would normally do. Your team leader will have already divided you into smaller groups, assigning your group a specific stop where you will depants.”
